It snowed this weekend and Vlad and I picked up our Christmas tree, and that's put me in the holiday spirit. Of course we haven't decorated it yet because he's been working and I've been laid out with a cold, but the apartment smells like pine and I busted out the Christmas candles, so I'm satisfied for now.
I've also been working away on making embroidery Christmas ornaments, and this is the first batch. Other in-progress pieces have words and phrases and other designs. I’m going to give some as gifts for family etc, and if I manage to finish more in an orderly fashion, sell the rest. So stay tuned! I’m hoping to put them up for sale by the weekend.
These pieces are in 3 inch hoops, and I’ll tie on some ribbon or twine to hang on a tree. The snowflakes have been a little tricky to keep straight/symmetrical while tracing because the fabric moves when it gets stretched in the hoop, but I think I managed alright. The designs were generated in this nifty tool, the snowflaker. And I used carbon paper to trace on the dark navy fabric, a first for me.
Ta da!
